During the concert series MINIMAL some of the most interesting and versatile musicians and groups in the international contemporary music scene will take centre stage. In particular, the Ensemble L’Homme Armé, the only Italian vocal group to have experimented with contemporary music for over 20 years, will present the Italian debut of the little match girl passion by the American composer David Lang. As usual, there will also be room for established soloists such as pianist Alfonso Alberti, who has been in the spotlight for his recordings of music by Niccolò Castiglioni and Gérard Pesson. The audience will be treated to a chamber music-like exploration of contemporary music for violin and piano by the accomplished duo formed by the Brazilian pianist Heloisa Amaral and the Norwegian violinist Karin Hellqvist. A contribution to the most experimental part of the programme will be made by David Maranha, an eclectic Portuguese musician who is one of the most prominent exponents of neo-minimalism and founder of the group Osso Exotico.
