Nato nel 1981 a Berettyóújfalu, Ungheria
Erik Tollas è un artista internazionale ospite a Villa Romana nel mese di settembre 2023. In collaborazione con l'European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC).
Erik Tollas è un artista visivo ungherese di origine rom che vive e lavora a Budapest. Laureato all'Università di Pécs, Facoltà di Musica e Arti Visive, ha mosso i primi passi come pittore nel campo della pittura figurativa. Più di recente si è orientato verso la sperimentazione di forme astratte, con opere dal carattere più meditativo e surreale. Nel 2021 è stato selezionato per l’Eszterházy Art Award del Ludwig Museum di Budapest. Espone regolarmente in gallerie di tutta l’Ungheria e partecipa a mostre personali e collettive, tra cui la più recente alla Galleria NACO (Metanoia, 2022) di Budapest.
